The latest phone from WMS packs solid midrange specs and a 720p HD projector. No mods needed.
Moviphone is basically a OnePlus 5 with a built-in projector:

Apple: there wasn’t enough room for a headphone jack. Moviphone: We put in a protector AND a headphone jack! “not enough space” pfft

Next iPhone “revolutionary” feature. “No volume or power buttons because we couldn’t fit them.”

If Apple put a projector on their phones they would have to remove the lightning port, speakers and mic
ReplySiva Mira - posted on January 10, 2018 5:50 am
Actually they would remove the screen entirely because why would you need another screen.

Samsung did this around 6 years ago, they called it “samsung beam i8530” so I don’t find this that impressive.
ReplyJack Skellington - posted on January 11, 2018 2:56 pm
haloShAdOwSnIpE This is much better though. It’s on more relevant hardware with software way more up to date that will last much longer.
ReplyPlus this projector is quite a lot better. I have the beam and it’s great.
But 50 lumens 720p laser vs 15 lumens wvga dlp can be like a world of difference. With a better soc and stereo speakers
haloShAdOwSnIpE - posted on January 11, 2018 3:11 pm
All I’m saying is that a 720p projector phone doesn’t impress me, if it were 1080p it would.
ReplyJack Skellington - posted on January 11, 2018 3:13 pm
haloShAdOwSnIpE Me too. But I’m happy for the bump in projector tech and phone software, speakers, and soc. Hopefully Samsung comes with another one.
ReplyIf they would combine the note, beam, active, and zoom into one it would be a hell of a beast

Samsung Galaxy Beam anyone?
ReplyDon Lew - posted on January 9, 2018 11:17 pm
FastLikeUNO thanks, I was trying to remember what it was called, I knew Samsung had done it. And there’s the projector Moto Mod for the Moto Z line from last year too

I have it lol. I love it. But a 50 lumens 720p laser ones sounds like a dream compared to the 15 lumens wvga dlp one i have.

How can a phone that supports a projector, be running absolutely stock Android? I’m calling BS
ReplyCharles Eye - posted on January 9, 2018 11:14 pm
zlerner716 Adding a system app that controls a piece of hardware doesn’t change the fact that it’s stock Android. By that logic, there’s no such thing as a stock OS on any device because drivers are always added to make the hardware and software work together. If there’s no UI skin, the stock apps haven’t been replaced by the manufacturer and there’s no third party bloat, that’s stock Android.
Replyzlerner716 - posted on January 10, 2018 3:39 am
Charles Eye I understand that. Even though with the Moto series that add two gestures, or support for Moto mods they always call it near stock. Like I have a Nexus 6p which is complete stock. But I understand what he was getting at.
Replyzlerner716 - posted on January 10, 2018 3:40 am
But thank you for the clarification
Replycfm marko - posted on January 10, 2018 5:25 am
Just make the projector mirror the screen and put in a hardware switch. Done

battery is a huge problem, 2.5 hours play time maximum
ReplyJames Jones - posted on January 10, 2018 1:29 pm
those projector phones only good when there’s a blackout or when you go camping, other than that don’t see it getting much use.
