ReplyPeter Kroll - posted on October 19, 2016 7:08 pm
This is what I want:
– Splash prove
– In the device integrated rubber edges, making it table-top drop resistant
without extra case
– Removable battery
– At least 3 days of usage without recharging
– Large camera sensor with reasonable pixel count (no need for 20 k +)
– Removable back with proper catches, not a thin plastic shell with pins
– No curved screen or rounded screen edges
– No screen finger prints
– Easy access Sim card tray with dual slots
– Secondary “always on” screen for notifications, driving directions, soft
buttons, etc.
– Stereo speakers, I know the stereo effect is rather limited but the sound
output is still much richer by using 2
– A generous amount of RAM, at least 6 GB or more
– Bands covering all global cell standards
– Choice of Sailfish, Ubuntu or Android OS.
What I do not need
– not user removable batteries
– telling me than more pixels than better
– 1 day and lesser battery usage on a high-end device
– 18 months lasting and then the phone will get slower and slower
– 6 mm or thinner devices
– instantly breaking the display even if dropped only very moderately
– proprietary connectors
– a philosophy instead of smart technology
– being kept for dumb and dumber one button devices
– fixed batteries and no expandable storage
– glass or other highly polished back-sides.
Most phones nowadays have more of the 2. category. It is highest time we
Replymake things again for people, not only for quick profit.
STU KATSO - posted on October 22, 2016 10:22 pm
Another “DO NOT NEED” you might want to add…being retina scanned or
Replyfingerprinted like a criminal!!!!
Peter Kroll - posted on October 23, 2016 1:16 am
Stu, I concur!
ReplySubin George - posted on November 2, 2016 1:25 pm
man get over the battery system. the age of removable batter is gone im
Replyafraid and now more and more flagships will be released with non-removable
battery. so get used to the in-built battery. it was hard for me too but
now im used to it like 1 and a half hour charging is not that bad
seriously. out of 24 hours i can spare that much time for charging. i have
the S7 edge btw.
Peter Kroll - posted on November 2, 2016 4:19 pm
Subin, I would not know any reason as why a user removable battery should
not have quick charge capacity.
I’ve got an Asus Zenfone which just turns 2 yo in October. It has non user
Replyremovable battery. The battery is now at about 75 % of the new capacity. It
costs USD 50 to replace by Asus Service. I’ve also got a 5 years old Sony
Xperia with removable battery. The battery is just getting somehwat weaker.
It costs USD 20 to replace by myself.
