Louis CK is really trying to say something profound here, but that idiotic
audience keeps laughing.

kaatyblue - posted on May 28, 2016 1:52 am

so frustrating

Roe Diggler - posted on June 1, 2016 12:15 pm

People laugh at things which they can relate to or understand. The fact
that they are laughing means he has succeeded. If they can’t or
don’t understand the joke there typically isn’t a laugh. The exceptions
are when a comedian is telling a joke which isn’t funny and he’s the only
one laughing and can’t understand why no one else is. Or, your friend tells
a joke and it is a shitty joke, but you’re too much of a chump to say,
nice try but that wasn’t funny and you give an awkward laugh.

This is why Louis CK is successful. The best comedians know that the best
material comes from true emotions that we never really share with people.
It has an authenticty to it and everyone can relate, therefore it works.

Spencer Lee - posted on June 26, 2016 7:11 am
