flyinghigh2000 this is true. I tried the ZenFone 4 back in 2014 as a sales rep and it surprisingly did better than most Samsung and Sony phones of the same or higher price tag

Well they are previous models. Asus no longer use Intel for next phones. My Zenfone 3 Deluxe has a Snapdragon 820. ZF4 will have SD 835 or 840

ask them to make a x86 build.. the arm emulation sucks.

does AMD makes phone processors ?
ReplyCarth O'Nasty - posted on June 8, 2018 10:20 pm
“Adreno is a series of graphics processing unit(GPU) semiconductor intellectual property cores developed by Qualcomm and used in a variety of their SoCs. The core was initially developed under the Imageon brand name by ATI Technologies, which was acquired by AMD in 2006. After AMD sold the division in January 2009,[1] Qualcomm renamed the Imageon products to Adreno, an anagram of Radeon.”

HerrBlauzahn would be a disaster in terms of handling terabytes data. The low clock speed and microscopic cores just won’t cut it unless they made some 1nn architecture possible.
ReplyPseudoResonance - posted on June 10, 2018 1:07 am
Actually, people are working on doing just this. Raspberry Pis have been used by some people and possibly universities in the future to create low cost supercomputers by creating giant clusters of thousands of Pis. They’re cheaper to build and cheaper to run than a “real” supercomputer, so it’s great for testing out concepts before actually running them on a full scale supercomputer, despite the different architecture. Samsung also showed off a bunch of recycled S5s as a bitcoin mining cluster. Again, thanks to the super low power consumption, and the fact that the phones were recycled, so essentially free, it ends up as a very cheap and viable option.
ReplyEduardo Avila - posted on June 24, 2018 3:31 pm
*Throws a raspberry pi onto you*

(People use them to make web servers and other kinds of servers as long they dont have too much acess, and yeah rapsberrys use arm chips.)

Vincent De Alwetende Yep, but still bad
ReplyVincent De Alwetende - posted on June 24, 2018 6:44 pm
Eduardo Avila true, but thankfully we don’t need those speeds for browsing etc because we have ssd and pci-e nowadays
ReplyEduardo Avila - posted on June 24, 2018 7:25 pm
Vincent De Alwetende I dont think ssd replace those clock speeds and that you use a core i7 7500u or a 4500u plus a 940mx or a 8850 just for browsing, and they are quite expensive actually.
What i dont like about the ulv lineup is that they replaced the old m lineup, that was cheap and had a good performance for the price, it was the cheap hq/qm ones.
But intel just got rid of those chips in the 3/4th gen (there were some m processors in the 4th one, but they are pretty rare and expensive). For example a simple core i5 2450m is better than my i7 4500u and some newer ones as 5,6th gens too, and it wasnt a hq or even a i7, and it beats many i7s around there.
So they shove down those sluggish processors down our throat.
They ar good for browsing, but for such task i would use a core 3m or a octacore atom, or a raspberry or any arm based laptop, that uses way less energy than those ulv ones (i mean, the atom in the gpd win uses only 2w as base tdp!).
Unfortunatly i am now stuck at trying to get a thinkpad t440p that has a 4th gen core i5 m that can upgraded to q not so cheap (through chinese websites tho) i7 4700mq (i think it was that one).
And where i live, i cant find a t440p that has the nvidia card, so i am stuck with a intel hd4600 too…
Many of the new h or hq laptops are too expensive here and if i buy outside they will get expensive with the taxes, and also many h and hq new laptops, have them soldered and try to be thin, what makes them really unreliable and more prone to break and have bga problems.
The ulv lineup really seems out of purpouse, as ultrabooks could benefit from them but laptops are becoming ultrabooks with better gpus, and dont exist much anymore. So these ulv are too expensive for browsing but also dont have much performance for anything above that. Also are prone to kill themselves.
Thats a real issue, and worse now, with that bad lead-free solder.
At least atoms and arm based devices arent that much expensive (at least in the us).
ReplyVincent De Alwetende - posted on June 25, 2018 6:12 pm
Eduardo Avila thank you, I forgot that Intel had the M line. Isn’t the new Celeron kind of replacing the low end M line?
ReplyEduardo Avila - posted on June 25, 2018 6:35 pm
Vincent De Alwetende Nope. But the m line had:
-Low end celerons (they are kinda still here but now they are ulv too)
-Core i3s ranging from awmost celerons to awmost i5s
-Core i5s ranging from awmost core i3s to awmost core i7s
-Core i7s ranging from awmost core i5s to some powerfull beasts awmost close to some qm/mq processors.
The celeron and atom lines were the first ones to adopt the ulv “u” style with smaller tdp and base clock.
The most awesome thing was to buy a 28 or 35w celeron and upgrade it to a i7 without any riscs, and even to a qm quadcore if the motherboard allowed.
ReplyNowdays its soldered and thats it.

ReplyFheed Pexx - posted on June 9, 2018 10:16 am
Nope, the ingredients are exactly the same. And I mean exactly. The only thing that could differ is the meat, which they obviously get from different sources. I could go to two McDonald’s in my city and they’re slightly different, it has nothing to do with what country they’re in but rather the employees, age of the equipment – those kinds of things. Also some locations do not use Heinz ketchup, but that’s about it.
Replyjaymaster103 - posted on June 14, 2018 3:08 am
GamingS1000RR !! He was being sarcastic in the sense that wherever you buy a Big Mac it looks nothing like the menu picture. So the “same” here refers to expectation vs reality of burger served.
